In October 2008 the American Nonsmokers' Rights Foundation identified:

• 75 municipalities with Smokefree Beach Laws that specified that all city beaches and/or specifically named city beaches are smokefree.
• 111 municipalities with Smokefree Bus Stop Laws plus the State of Iowa and the Territory of Guam prohibit smoking in outdoor public transit waiting areas.
• 137 municipalities with Smokefree Outdoor Dining Laws (this includes those municipalities that have enacted laws for 100% smokefree outdoor dining areas but excludes those municipalities that have restricted smoking to certain parts or percentages of outdoor dining areas.)
• 391 municipalities with Smokefree Park Laws (this includes those municipalities that specified that all city parks and/or specifically named city parks are smokefree and excludes those that have designated smoking areas in city parks, those that provide coverage only a certain number of feet from playgrounds or youth areas, and those that provide coverage only during youth events.)
• 26 municipalities with Smokefree Zoo Laws.
